MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) —Officials in southwestern Minnesota say at least three rural farm sites sustained damage Monday afternoon when a tornado reportedly touched down.

Yellow Medicine County Sheriff Bill Flaten said a report came in shortly after 4 p.m. saying a tornado touched down just east of St. Leo.

The tornado damaged at least three rural farm sites, affecting machine sheds, grain bins, outbuildings, and residences, he said.

No injuries were reported.

A user on Twitter named Grant Abraham posted an image of a collapsed shed a few miles east of St. Leo.

Twitter user @bwicky777 tweeted an image of a funnel cloud (see above) at about 4:30 p.m. She said she saw a tornado form outside of St. Leo, which is about three hours west of the Twin Cities.

Meanwhile, north of Yellow Medicine County, a winter storm threatens to dump up to 20 inches of snow on northwestern Minnesota.
